The old proverb "Procrastination is the thief of time" still holds true. Some reasons why we get into the procrastination habit are a lack of motivation, or if the task we need to do is forced upon us.

There's a good chance that we all lay awake at night wondering how on earth we are going to accomplish the millions of things that are on our to-do lists. There are only twenty-four hours in a day and we all have those moments when we feel we need twice that to get everything done. Are we doomed to a fate of frantically rushing around and stressing out just to do our jobs, take care of our homes and maintain meaningful relationships? Not necessarily. We just have to master the art of time management. This refers to the ability to use time productively, which involves staying organized, working smarter rather than faster, and avoiding potential time-wasters.
Research has shown that efficient use of time, both at work and home, results in less stress. Staying organized and reducing distractions not only save a lot of time and energy but they also greatly impact the quality of our work. The bottom line is that time management has a lot to do with motivation; individuals who are highly motivated tend to actively use better techniques, which in turn improves their performance on various tasks.
We can all improve our organizational skills and approaches to work in order to become more efficient. You may think you are a disorganized person or that you are just incapable of meeting a deadline without those last moments of sheer panic, but these are definitely skills that can be learned. It's just a matter of overcoming productivity blocks and developing a plan of attack for replacing them with improved strategies. The goal of the Time Management Test is to identify any bad habits Mary may have (e.g. procrastination, distracting work environment, inability to prioritize assignments, etc.) and help her enhance her ability to manage time.
